What are sealants?
Sealants are a clear plastic material placed on the back teeth to prevent cavities. Sealants form a protective barrier that covers/seals the grooves of those back molars which are difficult to keep clean for most people.
When can sealants be placed?
It is recommended to place sealants at age 6 when first permanent molars erupt. Sealants are a great way to help prevent cavities in those deep grooves.
